Es wird nicht mehr automatisch der Ordner „Eigene Dateien“ aus gelesen, sondern der Anwender kann selbst bestimmen, welche Dokumente durchgearbeitet werden sollen. Es werden nach wie vor alle ausgehenden E-Mails verarbeitet.
• Nach der Einrichtung erscheinen in regelmäßigen Abständen Erinnerungen, die Anpassung durchzuführen – Kunden darauf hinweisen, dass dies nicht sinnvoll ist!
• Nach jeweils 1 Stunde Diktat wird beim Schließen von Dragon NaturallySpeaking automatisch eine Benutzerprofilwartung durchgeführt. Diese dauert nur wenige Minuten und entspricht wohl der akustischen Optimierung. Es existieren noch keine gesicherten Ergebnisse, ob die Wartung etwas bringt oder nicht.
• Diktierfenster öffnet sich automatisch in Anwendungen, die keine volle Textkontrolle haben, kann aber abgeschaltet werden
• Smartformat-Regeln: wenn etwas diktiert wird, was auf verschiedene Weisen formatiert werden kann (zum Beispiel Zahlen, Daten, Abkürzungen), öffnet sich ein Fenster, in dem man angeben kann, ob immer eine alternative Schreibweise gewählt werden soll.

New commands that work with popular Web applications

Dragon now includes Rich Internet Application extensions, which support Full Text Control when you dictate into Web mail applications and Web-based word processing applications. Dictation and commands are supported in Google Gmail and Hotmail.

The following Web browsers are supported in this release: Internet Explorer 9 (32-bit) and Mozilla Firefox 10 or higher. See Using Dragon with Web Applications.

Full Text Control:

Work with text easily in Web applications While you work in one of the Rich Internet Applications listed above, Dragon’s Full Text Control will be active, so you can enter text directly into fields and edit it.

The Dictation Box:

It's there when you need it When you dictate in unsupported applications or windows, Dragon now automatically displays the Dictation Box to provide Full Text Control. After you finish dictating, you can transfer the text from the Dictation Box to the unsupported program. The setting can be turned on and off in the Options dialog box Miscellaneous tab.

Use your Android device as a wireless microphone Android users can perform dictation wirelessly by installing the Dragon Remote Microphone application on their Android devices. You can add the device to an existing user profile in either Dragon 11.5 or Dragon 12. See Adding a smartphone to your user profile. If you plan to use your smart device exclusively for dictation, you can create a new profile that uses a smart device as a wireless microphone. See Using a smartphone as a wireless microphone and Creating a User Profile.

When you set up an Android or iOS smart device for use as a wireless microphone with Dragon, now you can use the camera on your device and a barcode on Dragon to capture the information that the Dragon Remote Microphone Application needs. See Adding a smartphone to your user profile.

Always, sometimes, or never

To distinguish commands from dictation, Dragon now waits for you to say "Click <menu or tab name>" to open menus or ribbon tabs, or "Click <button name or list box name>" to select dialog box controls. For example, with the Microsoft Office ribbon, to open the Home tab, you say "Click Home" rather than just "Home."

Also, the former combined Require "Click" option has been divided. In previous releases, this feature controlled both menu and control commands – now you can turn off either option individually. For example, you could set up Dragon to require that you say "Click" before opening a File menu and have it turned off inside dialog boxes. See Require "Click" to select menus and Require "Click" to select buttons and other controls.

New command opens the menu If you like to set the DragonBar to display from the Tray Icon only, now you can display it by voice as well. Just say "Open Dragon’s tray menu.” See Controlling the DragonBar.

More control Dragon's multiple text matching feature enables you to apply changes to multiple instances of matching text in your documents. Dragon now includes an option to turn the feature off as required. See Enable multiple text matches and Handling multiple text matches.

A new command to find the most popular web sites The new command "Open Top Website for <keywords>" directly opens the top-ranked page for the keywords you include when you dictate the command. See Searching the Web by voice.

Turn off what you're not using and Dragon runs faster If you don't use commands to open programs and folders, or to control menus, buttons, and other controls in your programs, now Dragon has options to turn them off. With Dragon no longer listening for those types of commands, the speed of dictation recognition increases.

To turn off control of Start menu and Desktop items, on the DragonBar go to Tools > Options > Commands. Then, turn off Enable launching from the Start menu and Enable launching from the Desktop. To turn off control of menus, buttons, or other controls in one or more programs, on the DragonBar go to Tools > Options > Miscellaneous > Voice-enable menus, buttons, and other controls. You can turn off control of all programs or selected programs on the list.

Give your vocabulary a tune-up Dragon can now help you to improve its accuracy and speed by using a new reminder window that prompts you to scan your local computer system and adapt your vocabulary based on words and writing styles in typical documents and your sent e-mail messages. By learning words and typical phrasing that you use, dictation can be faster and more accurate. See Let Dragon learn from documents and messages.

Also, the two Dragon Vocabulary tools that you'll be using to make these improvements – the former Increase Accuracy From E-Mail and Add Words From Documents tools – are renamed in this release as "Learn From Sent E-mails" and "Learn From Specific Documents." In addition to the reminder option, you can click Tools on the DragonBar to run them when you choose.

Make Dragon smarter Dragon also provides an option to save language model information when you save your user profile. The Acoustic and Language Model Optimizer accumulates this data from session to session and Dragon prompts you to save your language model periodically. The first prompt appears the day after you create your profile and then a week later.

Maximize your computer's resources If you have a computer with two or more processors and more than 4 GB of RAM, Dragon automatically selects the BestMatch V speech model for you when you create your user profile. BestMatch V performs two recognition passes in parallel. See About speech and acoustic models.

Dragon supports the best new devices The 16 kHz Plantronics Calisto II Bluetooth wireless microphone is now supported. Dragon formerly supported only 8 kHz Bluetooth devices, but in this release you can gain accuracy if you have the 16 kHz Calisto II microphone.

If you are upgrading a user profile for use with a 16 kHz Bluetooth microphone, you must add it to the profile as a new dictation source.

Now Dragon Professional and Dragon Legal support remote dictation on Windows computers running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 Ultimate Server. Use remote dictation when you need to connect to a remote computer to enter your dictation, and Dragon is installed there instead of on your local computer. Multiple instances of Dragon can run simultaneously on the remote computer if it is a server. See Using Dragon over a remote connection and System requirements for Dragon on Windows servers.

The flexibility of XML You can choose to export word properties in XML format when you export custom word lists for reuse in other user profiles. Exported word lists do not include trained pronunciations.

Now includes Dragon Dragon's "List All Windows" command now includes Dragon applications in the list. And if you want to see just the Dragon applications, say "List Dragon windows." See Switching between programs and windows.

Better file formats and e-mail notifications The AutoTranscribe Folder Agent, which automatically writes text-based copies of recorded dictation copied to a specified directory, formerly only produced text files. Now output is available in Microsoft Word .DOC and .RTF formats.

Administrators can also now set up automatic e-mail notification from the command line when a transcription job completes. If you are a Dragon Administrator, see Dragon NaturallySpeaking Administrator's Guide, say or click "Help" then "User Documentation" on the DragonBar.

Better way to restore

If Dragon was unable to open your user profile, it presents the Launch Restore window, where you can choose from automatically backed up copies of the profile to restore.

Make friends with your Dragon Dragon features the new Interactive Tutorial, where you can learn and practice some of the basics of dictation and dictation commands, and correction, spelling, and editing and using "Go Back" with Dragon.

Note that the Interactive Tutorial does not support hands-free usage and dictation is limited to the prompts that you can speak in each lesson.

Find everything you need in one place The DragonBar’s Help menu provides access to many Help tools, including the Accuracy Center, the Performance Assistant, Dragon's Help, the Tip of the Day, the Sidebar, and the tutorials. You'll also find Web links – for updates to your software, to Dragon on the Web, and Technical Support pages, and for online registration.

The Help menu also includes a link for User Documentation, where you can find user guides, including the Dragon Administrator Guide, the Dragon Workbook, cheat sheets, and instructional videos. You can access the Help at any time by saying "Give me help."

Now you can change the size of text in Dragon's Sidebar – make the text smaller if you want to make the Sidebar thinner and prevent the text for the commands from wrapping, or larger if you want to reduce eye strain. See Using the Dragon SideBar.

More helpful if you need to speed up Dragon The Performance Assistant, a Help tool you can use to boost Dragon's and your computer's speed, is now linked from the Accuracy Center and includes many new options for turning off commands you may not need, such as

Controlling menus, buttons, and other controls Controlling desktop e-mail and calendar programs, or Launching items from the Start menu See Welcome to the Performance Assistant.

Bigger and better The Tip of the Day, which displays by default when you open a Dragon user profile, and is available from the Help menu and Sidebar, has improved content and is resized for easier reading.

See all your dictation sources The Manage User Profiles > User Profile Properties dialog box has been updated to list multiple dictation sources, such as if you use both a headset and a smart device as a microphone or recorder.

More choices, more natural When you use Dragon to read out text, Dragon now provides more natural text-to-speech voices. To try it, select some text in an editable document and say "Read That." For details, see Using text-to-speech. You can set options in The Options dialog box Playback/Text-to-speech tab. To order more voices, go to http://support.nuance.com.

Administrators now have control Dragon Administrators can now set up a recognition history log file to be saved automatically to the local user profile directory. Recognition log files can be useful in compiling objective information about how people work with Dragon and help Enterprise sites to better train end-users.
